What we do: the club books seats and arranges coach transport for members and guests to attend plays and concerts, starting from Kingsbridge in Devon. The planned events are listed in programmes issued about four times a year. The venues are mainly in Plymouth, Torbay and Exeter but we occasionally travel much further afield. See more at About Us.

NEWSLETTER 4, Aug 2017  (posted 29 July 2017)
Dear SHTCC Member/s,

Please find on the Programme page our latest and extensive programme which I hope you will enjoy and find some shows which take your fancy. National Theatre’s ‘Hedda Gabler’, Birmingham Royal Ballet’s ‘Aladdin’, Glyndebourne’s ‘Cosi fan Tutte’ and Royal Shakespeare Company’s ‘Matilda’ were all in the previous programme and are in the ‘last chance to book’ category.

New on this programme but with a ‘short fuse’ is Matthew Bournes’s Cinderella. If any or all of these shows appeal to you please book now to avoid missing the club deadline.

Also a reminder regarding the proposed trip to Cardiff next year to see RSC’s Matilda on the 10/11 December, 2018. Please see below for more information/booking slip.

Best wishes,
Nick Alen, Chairman

A trip to Cardiff, including a night at Jurys Inn, Cardiff, to see Matilda in December 2018 is being offered as follows.
If you wish to book use the slip at the bottom of the page and enclose a deposit cheque made out to SHTCC for 10% of the coach/hotel total for your party. The single supplement is £31 and only a limited number of single rooms are available on a first come, first served basis.

The price of £102 per person includes:
  • Coach to and from Cardiff. We aim to leave Kingsbridge Quay early on the Monday morning and return to Kingsbridge Tuesday evening including driver gratuity
  • A stop en-route each way
  • Transport between the hotel and theatre on Monday night
  • Tuesday morning there will be time for site-seeing/Christmas shopping
  • Bed & breakfast-based on a shared room (twin or double) - single supplement of £31
It excludes the cost of the theatre ticket which you need to order separately from the Club Programme, using the normal booking slip.
Your deposit cheque for the coach/hotel will not be banked until I am sure that the trip is running-when we have sufficient members booked. When the trip is confirmed the cheques will be banked and the deposits for the hotel and the coach paid. We will then be be committed.

We recommend you take out travel insurance since the club cannot make refunds once the event is confirmed

If needed, please click newsletter to download and print a copy, cut off the slip at the bottom of the page and return with your deposit cheque of 10% of your booking amount made out to SHTCC, dated 5th October, 2017 and send to: Nick Alen, SHTCC, 14 Southville Gardens, Kingsbridge TQ7 1LE

Best wishes,

Nick Alen
